Drawing to me is a form of visual magic. From the beginning of time marks were man's basic form of expression and communication. I endeavor to continue to make that happen.
Marks in and for themselves have always generated reaction or confrontation in turn challenging mind and emotion, and different levels of spirituality. I begin with a form of automatic mark making which at some point intellect, personal symbols and the use of metaphors seem to force themselves into an elaborate exchange of hide and seek. The content evolves out of process and personal decision making along the way always striving to capture what I don't know or always understand into some form of visual fruition. It is precisely that unknown factor which drives mind and hand to realize the unanswered questions. Like maps my pen-drawn lines lead you through highways, open and closed, and those various crossroads bring new awakenings, and greater understandings.
